What we collect
MedWait does not require an account. The only personal information we collect is the email address you voluntarily submit if you opt in to wait-time alerts or our tips newsletter. No health information is ever collected, stored, or transmitted by MedWait.
How we use it
Email addresses are used only to deliver the alerts and newsletters you opted into. We do not sell, rent, or share your email with third parties. You can unsubscribe in a single click from any email we send.
Cookies and analytics
We use privacy-preserving analytics to understand which procedures and pages people visit. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.
Location lookups
If you use the “near me” filter, the town or city you type is sent to OpenStreetMap Nominatim — or, for Canadian postal codes, to Zippopotam.us — to convert it into approximate coordinates. Only the first three characters of a postal code are used. We cache that conversion in our database for up to 30 days so repeated lookups are faster — but we never link the lookup to your email, IP, or any other identifier. Don't use the location filter if you prefer not to share even a partial postal code with a third-party geocoder.
